Current Status and Outlook | Tropical Depression 21W (MARING) has strengthened slightly upon emerging swiftly over the West Philippine Sea…now with a global name: DOKSURI ~ a Korean word for Eagle. Its rainbands has started to move away from Luzon. This depression is expected to move slowly, westward across the West Philippine Sea for the next 24 hours. DOKSURI (MARING) is likely to become a Tropical Storm (TS) later today. *TD DOKSURI (MARING) and the enhanced Southwesterly Windflow will bring on-and-off light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms across the western sections of Central and Southern Luzon, MiMaRoPa, and Western Visayas. Residents are advised to take precautionary measures and be on full alert against flash floods, landslides and swollen river banks. |
