This website is updated every 6 hours (12pm, 6pm, and 6am Philippine Time ~ GMT+8) during times of tropical cyclone activity except 12am Philippine Time (to be included if Tropical Cyclone will pass over the Philippine Islands or close to Bicol Region).

TROPICAL STORM DAMREY (RAMIL) STORMWATCH NO. 03 [FINAL]

Current Status and OutlookTropical Storm DAMREY (RAMIL) upgraded from Tropical Disturbance (LPA) 96W while over the West Philippine Sea…now moving out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on its way to Southern Vietnam.

24-hr Outlook:  TS DAMREY will become a full-blown Typhoon (TY) by tomorrow morning (Nov 03) while moving westerly across the South China Sea.

Where is DAMREY (RAMIL)?As of 6:00 PM PhT, November 02…1000 GMT.  The center was located over the West Philippine Sea (near 12.8N 115.2E), about 547 km west of Coron, Palawan or 655 km east of Nha Trang, Vietnam. 
How strong is it?Maximum Sustained Winds (10-min avg): 75 kph near the center…Gustiness: 95 kph
Past Movement (06 hrs)It was moving West @ 17 kph, towards Southern Vietnam.
Forecast Highlights
  • TS DAMREY is no longer a threat to the Philippines as it exits PAR.
  • The Day 2 forecast (Nov 04) shows TS DAMREY becoming a 140 kph Typhoon as it makes landfall over Southern Vietnam, just south of Nha Trang, Vietnam on Saturday morning.
