Current Status and Outlook | Tropical Storm DANAS (FALCON) slows down near the eastern coast of Cagayan, revealing an exposed low-level circulation center, with most of its rainbands displaced over Luzon and West Philippine Sea…expected to move later towards the Northeastern Coast of Cagayan-Batanes Group Area. 24-hr Outlook: TS DANAS (FALCON) is expected to gain more strength as it turns abrubtly north-northwest near the coastal areas of Northeastern Cagayan this afternoon and will track along the eastern portion of the Balintang Channel at an increased forward speed of 18 km/hr, passing very close to the east of Basco and Itbayat (Batanes) by early tomorrow morning (Jul 18). Meanwhile, the combination of its Trough and the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring occasional rains and thunderstorms across Luzon and Visayas, becoming more frequent along Western Luzon and MiMaRoPa today through Thursday. |
